Magnesia Zirconium Brick Series Products

Magnesia-zirconium brick mainly uses fused magnesia, high purity magnesia and zircon as the main raw materials. Its basic principle is that ZrSiO4 decomposes and reacts with MgO at high temperature to generate M2S and ZrO2, and the generated forsterite wraps around periclase to form a protective layer on the other magnesite to prevent SO3 and MgO from reacting to generate MgSO4 to cause cracking.

Description: Magnesia-zirconium brick mainly uses fused magnesia, high purity magnesia and zircon as the main raw materials. Its basic principle is that ZrSiO4 decomposes and reacts with MgO at high temperature to generate M2S and ZrO2. The generated forsterite wraps around periclase to form a protective layer on the other magnesite to prevent SO3 and MgO from reacting to generate MgSO4 to cause cracking. ZrO2 in high temperature sintering by the monoclinic phase into tetragonal phase, in the cooling and transformed into the monoclinic phase, and accompanied by 4%-5% volume expansion, in the expansion process, the grain around the perpendicular to the grain micro crack, and extended to the adjacent matrix. When subjected to thermal stress, the surrounding microcracks will eliminate and absorb the energy of thermal stress, avoid the cracking of the product, and play a role in toughening the magnesia-zirconium brick. Therefore, magnesium zirconium series products have good corrosion resistance and good thermal shock resistance, and are ideal materials for the top and bottom of the glass furnace heat storage chamber.
